Our Company

Van & Betty Bennett founded Van Bennett Food Co. Inc. in Reading, PA in 1940 to service the local grocery stores with Best Foods products. In 1957, Betty prepared and sold her now famous salads out of the kitchen in her house. Business flourished over the years and expansion into the food service arena occurred in the late 1970's.


Today, Van Bennett Food Co. is a diversified food service distributor serving various customers such as restaurants, caterers, healthcare, retail grocery stores, institutions, convenience stores, and vending operators. Betty's Specialty Salads now total over 50 products.


Our affiliation with Legacy Foodservice Alliance, a national buying and marketing group, has enabled our Company to purchase goods and services at volume pricing in order to give our customers more value for their purchasing dollar.

Van Bennett Food Company announces its 21st Annual Food Show, August 18th at the Body Zone. The show will be from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
